Cst. Fabrice Georges Gevaudan | Cst. Douglas James Larche | Cst. Dave Joseph Ross

On June 4, 2014, Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a complaint of a suspicious male with guns walking on the streets of Moncton, New Brunswick. Several members responded and while attempting to apprehend the suspect, the following three members of the RCMP were fatally injured as a result of gunshot wounds at Moncton, New Brunswick:

GEVAUDAN
Reg. No. 55685, Cst. Fabrice Georges Gevaudan, 45, was born Jan. 14, 1969, at Boulogne-Billancourt, France, and joined the Force at Regina, Saskatchewan. Upon completion of training at “Depot,” on Feb. 11, 2008, he served in “J” Div., New Brunswick, namely at Codiac Detachment where he worked in General Duty Policing.

LARCHE
Reg. No. 49269, Cst. Douglas James Larche, 40, was born Jan. 18, 1974, at Campbellton, New Brunswick, and joined the Force at Moncton, New Brunswick. Upon completion of training at “Depot,” on Feb. 4, 2002, he served in “J” Div., New Brunswick, including Doaktown and more recently, Codiac Detachment. He worked in Highway Patrol and General Duty Policing and was an investigator with the Codiac General Investigation Section/Major Crime Unit. He was awarded a Commander’s Commendation in May 2008 for saving the life of an unconscious baby. He previously served in the Canadian Forces Reserve Unit from July 8, 1991 to Oct. 5, 2000.

ROSS
Reg. No. 54868, Cst. Dave Joseph Ross, 32, was born May 22, 1982, at Arthabaska, Quebec, and joined the Force at Ottawa, Ontario. Upon completion of training at “Depot,” on July 9, 2007, he served in “J” Div., New Brunswick, namely at Codiac Detachment where he worked in General Duty Policing and, most recently, as a Police Dog Services Handler. He previously served in the Canadian Forces Reserve Unit from April 2005 to 2007.
